THE LOGISTICS TRADE SHOW FOR THE BALKANS & SE EUROPE
THE EXHIBITION FOR LOGISTICS
AND TRANSPORTATION SERVICES IN THESSALONIKI
10-12 April 2025 at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition Centre (TIF-HELEXPO)
A new exhibition event for transport and logistics was launched in April 2024 in Thessaloniki and was a great success. The new LOGISTICS & TRANSPORT THESSALONIKI EXPO was well received by the Greek and Balkan markets, highlighting the importance of Northern Greece as a Balkan transport hub. The infrastructure of Northern Greece, especially the Ports and Road Axes, as well as the railway connections with the Balkan capitals and the existing and future Logistics Centers, set the basis for the region’s leading role in the Balkan Peninsula. The next edition of LOGISTICS & TRANSPORT THESSALONIKI EXPO will take place on 10-12 April 2025, at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition Centre (TIF-HELEXPO), attracting every professional from Greece, the Balkans and international markets. During its first edition, the exhibition succeeded in bringing together the neighbouring countries that have systematic cooperation with each other, with the North and the rest of Greece in terms of export trade and logistics. The exhibition and conference event focuses again this year on the connection and cooperation between these countries, with a focus on Thessaloniki, offering additional cooperation prospects to companies based in Greece.
Transport & logistics companies, ports and forwarding companies, rail and road transport, warehouse equipment, lifting machines, racking and automation, IT and commercial vehicles will be the sectors covered in the trade show.
A significant number of businesses from Greece and the Balkan countries, chambers of commerce, professional organizations and the government have expressed interest in this new event and intend to participate, strengthening this important event to be held in Thessaloniki. The exhibition will also be complemented by the conference event LOGI.C (Logistics Conferences), established, and recognized in the market for over a decade.
Greece's pivotal role in the Balkans
The role of the supply chain and logistics industry has been continuously improving over the last 8 years in the country. The sectoral contribution to GDP is approaching 11-13% with growth trends, while the high level of services provided by Greek logistics companies, combined with the completion of major infrastructure in the country, port development and strong investment interest, have pushed Greece into the top 20 of countries with developed logistics around the world, in the World Bank’s global Logistics Performance Index (LPI no 19), from 42nd place just 5 years ago. In this landscape it is self-evident that the economy of Northern Greece plays an important role for the Balkan region and SE Europe, with Thessaloniki gradually taking the role it deserves as a Transit & Logistics hub of the wider region. The development investment moves of PPA, combined with the existence of a serious supporting network (Igoumenitsa, Volos, Kavala – Alexandroupolis), investments in large logistics centers and rail and intermodal cooperation moves with the neighbouring Balkan countries, are charting a bright future for the region and its interconnection with Europe and the Middle East.
